Crooked Road House

This lovely family retreat is located on 16 acres of land, just 5 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. Overlooking an expansive field, the Crooked Road House is a modern, comfortable home in a picturesque rural setting (walk down the road to see a farm with cows!). The wonderful patio features outdoor dining and a woodstove overlooking the trees and field. Inside, the decor is punctuated by exquisite polished concrete floors. There is also a separate building on the property with a hot rock sauna! A wonderful, private retreat for your extended family of 8.

The main level features the gorgeous modern kitchen, dining area, living room (with plenty of comfortable seating and woodstove), bathroom, and master queen bedroom and bath. There are a few steps that take you up to a spacious queen bedroom that also has a queen futon sofa (sleeping a total of 4 in this room) and a private bath.

A spiral staircase takes up up to the "crow's nest" on the second level, featuring a twin bed with pull-out trundle, sleeping a total of two.

Amenities include patio furnishings, diswasher, washer/dryer, two TVs with cable, WIFI, gas BBQ grill, microwave, stereo, DVD player and, of course, the hot rock sauna room!

The Crooked Road House is just under 2 miles to the Hulls Cove Beach and 2.5 miles to the main entrance to Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, whale watching, canoeing (kayak and canoe tours), lake swimming, carriage road walks, horse back riding, wonderful dining, shopping, deep sea fishing! Visit the oceanarium, sail on the Margaret Todd, take a Jackson Lab visitors tour, enjoy tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at a PGA top-rated course, play tennis. Kids activities include water park, petting zoo, miniature golf, beaches, and lots of ice cream/dairy bars!
