Duck Cove Lighthouse

Duck Cove Lighthouse is a charming 3 bedroom cottage (sleeps 7) with a breathtaking ocean view (the view includes Swans Island, which is just 4 nautical miles away) and just 75 feet above the shore. Located in Bass Harbor, on the “quiet” side of Mount Desert Island, the cottage is just a 25 minute drive to Bar Harbor’s business district. The southwest side of MDI has long been heralded as a peaceful, less hectic retreat from the busy, commercial area of Bar Harbor. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything, including Acadia National Park (a section of which is just 5 minutes from the cottage), wonderful restaurants, and excellent shopping.

The cottage sits on an acre of land, in a private setting, and features high ceilings, sky lights, a working fireplace, a wonderful deck overlooking the ocean and all the comforts of home. The 3 bedrooms are 2 kings, 1 queen, and also a sleep futon. There are two full bathrooms. It's a cozy retreat for your summer vacation!

Owned by a fisherman, the cottage features a nautical motif, with some interesting seafarer artifacts (including a porthole from the Andrea Doria) highlighting the decor of the cottage and property. Amenities include washer/dryer, dishwasher, BBQ grill, cable TV, fitness equipment, internet access.

Duck Cove Lighthouse is close to everything Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park have to offer, including mountain hiking, bicycling, beaching, boating, whale watching, canoeing (kayak and canoe tours), lake swimming, carriage road walks, horse back riding, wonderful dining, shopping, deep sea fishing! Visit the oceanarium, take a Jackson Lab visitors tour, golf at a PGA top-rated course, play tennis. Kids activities include: water park, petting zoo, miniature golf, beaches, and lots of ice cream/dairy bars!
