The Libby House
Right in the middle of downtown Bar Harbor The Libby House offers guests a wonderful historic home with updated accommodations. The Libby House features gorgeous acroutemonts. Built in 1900, the house retains many original features including stucco walls, plaster ceilings, hard wood floors, wainscoting, antique lighting fixtures and claw foot tubs. Spacious inside, and a large backyard outside—a true luxury for a downtown property. It's also just a few hundred yards away from the wonderful Shore Path, a two mile walkway along the ocean in Bar Harbor.
There will be 5 bedrooms in 2012 (another "wing" is being renovated and opened up for next season): downstairs is a king bedroom with private bath; upstairs has a queen bedroom and another bedroom with two twins (with a sleep sofa in living room). The new "wing" will have two rooms (the 2nd room connected by the first). The first room will feature a queen bed, and the second room will have two twin beds. Total sleeping capacity is 10+. Upstairs is also two full baths.
On the first floor is a kitchen with all new appliances and a breakfast nook. There is a very large room off the kitchen that is the dining area and sitting area. There is a TV/family room in the front of the first floor.
Other amenities include cable TVs (two), DVD, WIFI internet, washer/dryer, dishwasher, CD/Radio, gas BBQ, linens, parking for 2 or more cars, microwave, coffeemaker.
The backyard if quite large and mostly fenced-in. There is a deck with gas BBQ and outdoor dining furniture.
Downtown activities include shopping, dining, whale watch tours, sea kayak tours, and much more. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, lake swimming, carriage road walks, horse back riding, deep sea fishing! Visit the Abbe Museum, sail on the Margaret Todd, take a Jackson Lab visitors tour, enjoy tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at a PGA top-rated course, play tennis. Kids activities include water park, petting zoo, miniature golf, beaches, and lots of ice cream shops!
This is a Sunday to Sunday rental.
