LilaMar Cottage

One of the treasures of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park is Echo Lake. This beautiful lake, situated in the center of Mount Desert Island, is a haven for kayakers and swimmers alike. The water is so fresh and, and beauty of lake is so peaceful and relaxing. Staying in a fun cottage right on Echo Lake makes for a very memorable vacation for families and friends. LilaMar Cottage is a cozy, fun cottage located at pond's end (providing amazing views all the way down the lake), with its own private dock and float. The very wooded property provides lovely shade in the warm summer days while the lake provides refreshing swims!

LilaMar has three bedrooms (maximum capacity is 6 guests): the master bedroom features a full/double bed, bay window, woodstove and private bath room with tub only; a bedroom with two twin beds; a bedroom with a twin bed and a loft bed (requiring climbing ladder/stairs to reach), queen-size. There is a second bathroom with a shower. The newly-renovated kitchen features a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. The living room features a beautiful granite fireplace. There is a small dining table (seats 4) just off the kitchen. There is also dining in the wonderful screened porch area that overlooks the lake.

Amenities include charcoal BBQ, DVD, TV in master bedroom (no satellite or cable), all linens, outdoor furniture, local telephone, WIFI, games and lots of books! There is also a canoe for guests use. Sorry, no washer/dryer or dishwasher.

Centrally located on Mount Desert Island, LilaMar is just minutes from various branches of Acadia National Park, including Echo Lake Beach, Long Pond (also great for kayaking), Beech Hill and St. Sauveur hiking trails. The Acadia Park Loop Road is about 13 minutes away, as is Eagle Lake. Somes Sound is just a mile away too. And you can catch the free Island Explorer bus at the end of the road, about a mile away!

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer a multitude of activities, including whale watch tours, lighthouse tours, hiking, biking, kayaking, museum tours, gardens and of course fine dining and lobsters galore!
