Lilac Hill

Lilac Hill is a newly renovated cottage (to be completed in March 2012) right in the middle of Somesville. The owners have meticulously and elegantly restored and improved the details to this lovely village property. In the middle of Mount Desert Island and conveniently close to all the Island villages and Acadia National Park, it's located on "Lilac Hill" across the road from the access lane to the harbor in Somesville (a five minute walk and a good swimming spot). Guests of the cottage have use of the owner's 2 kayaks and 1 canoe at the landing.

Lilac is very spacious, beautifully furnished cottage for up to 10 guests. There are five bedrooms, all on the 2nd floor. There is a king bedroom, 3 queen bedrooms, and a room with two twins. There are 3 bathrooms: one on the first floor with a shower only. On the second floor there is a full bath (with tub and shower) and another 3/4 bath (shower only). In addition, several of the bedrooms have a balcony, or breezeway deck!

The kitchen is gorgeous, with granite countertops and full stocked. Off of the kitchen is a comfortable family room with large flat screen TV and gas wall-mounted fireplace. The formal living room is in the front of the house and also has a flat screen TV and wall-mounted gas fireplace. Off of the living room is the dining area (seating 10) with a nearby web bar.

The cottage features a front and a rear deck, with plenty of outdoor seating for dining and relaxing.

Amenities include all appliances, dishwasher, satellite TV, WIFI, gas BBQ, washer/dryer and parking for two or more cars.

The perfect cottage for a family vacation, enjoy close proximity to Long Pond, Echo Lake, Beech Hill Mountain. Just 8 minutes to the Acadia National Park Loop Road, and 10 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor!

Lots to enjoy while here: whale watch tours, wonderful lobster dining, shopping, ocean fishing, kayaking, scenic tours! In Acadia you will enjoy nature walks, lake fishing, hiking swimming, beaching. Mountains, ocean, lakes, and parks—all at your fingertips.
