The Maples Seal Harbor

This classic older summer cottage is located in the historical village of Seal Harbor (the Rockefellers summered here for over a century). It's right in the village (which has just a restaurant, a convenience store/gas station and a post office!). Just a couple of minutes walk to the wonderful Seal Harbor beach and harbor, and one of the entrances to the Acadia National Park Loop Road. And Little Long Pond (which connects you to miles of carriage roads in the Park, is about a mile away). It's 8 miles to downtown Bar Harbor, and is on the Island Explorer Bus route (the free bus). It has a wonderfully wooded back yard going up the hill.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms (1 double, 4 twin beds), and a den with a daybed (twin). There is one bathroom (shower only). It has a full dining room, living room, day room (with twin bed) and kitchen on the first floor. The bedrooms and bath are on the second floor. There's cable TV and a cable modem.

It's not luxurious but is a quaint cottage with some interesting antique furnishings and old fashioned hardwood floors, very "cottage-y".

Amenities include cable TV and internet, VCR, radio, microwave oven, toaster, coffemaker, gas BBQ grill, fully functional kitchen, washer/dryer, and telephone for local calls. There are porch chairs for the front porch. Sorry, no dishwasher.

Activities in the area include swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, sightseeing. And the cottage is readily accessible to golf courses, public tennis courts, water park, miniature golf, horseback riding, petting zoo, and oceanarium!
