Richardson Farm Retreat

Built on land originally owned by the settlers of Mount Desert Island (and now owned by a descendant of those settlers), Richardson Farm Retreat is a pristine, glorious vacation property situated on 150 acres of gorgeous Maine woods and includes lovely Little Round Pond. At the end of a long private drive, the property is secluded, peaceful and quiet. It features beautiful nature trails, maintained and mapped out by the owner. Walk the woods, canoe in the Pond, enjoy the fresh air, while being just 15 minutes to the center of bustling Bar Harbor, and 13 minutes to an Acadia National Park entrance.

The cozy cottage (and next-door guest house) has a modern, spacious design, and is perfect for up to 6 guests. The first floor of the main cottage features the living area with french doors leading to a screened-in porch, dining area with seating for six, decorative fireplace, kitchen overlooking the pond, half-bath and laundry facilities. The second floor of the main cottage features a loft bedroom/sitting room with two twin beds and a sleep sofa, master bedroom with king bed, full bath, and plenty of skylights! The guest cottage features a queen bed, full bath, and kitchenette (with coffee maker, small refrigerator, sink and microwave). In addition to the screened-in porch, there is a sunny wrap-around deck and outdoor furnishings. Note there is only limited local TV and a DVD player. This cottage now has DSL high speed internet.

The perfect spot for two couples or an extended family to “get away from it all” while still enjoying the convenience and fun of a resort destination.

Hiking, boating, whale watching, nature walks, fishing, swimming—all this and more awaits visitors to Mount Desert Island. Acadia National Park is just 12 minutes from the cottage. Bar Harbor just 15. Mountains, ocean, lakes, and parks—all at your fingertips.
