Somes Pond Cottage

A sweet camp with lovely views overlooking Somes Pond in the middle of Mount Desert Island. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises from this private location, nestled in the tall pines with a beautiful babbling brook along side the camp. Somes Pond is good-sized lake, a favorite of locals for swimming and canoeing. And Somes Pond Cottage is convenient to all of the villages on Mount Desert Island: 10 minutes to Southwest Harbor; 15 minutes to Bar Harbor, 15 minutes to Northeast Harbor.

There are four bedrooms: three king bedrooms, a single twin bedroom. Two full bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Dining room seats 8 people. The spacious living room has cable TV, DVD, CD player and a gas fireplace. There's also a sitting/reading area on the second floor. The nice large deck is great for outside dining or just lounging, overlooking the pond and wild life.

Amenities include high speed internet/wifi, bedroom TVs, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, local telephone, and of course all linens.

The perfect spot for two couples or an extended family to “get away from it all” while still enjoying the convenience and fun of a resort destination.

Hiking, boating, whale watching, nature walks, fishing, swimming—all this and more awaits visitors to Mount Desert Island. Acadia National Park is just 12 minutes from the cottage. Great Long Pond is just 3 minutes from the cottage. Enjoy the mountains, ocean, lakes, and parks—within a short distance!
