Sound Point Cottage is a beautiful, traditional summer property from the by-gone "cottage" era that Northeast Harbor is famous for. Located right on Somes Sound, considered to be one of the most desirable oceanfront areas in the Northeast, this cottage has over 500' of private shorefrontage and has spectacular views up and down the Sound. It's directly across from Valley Cove, a picturesque cove on the shores of Acadia National Park. Impeccably well-maintained, and elegantly furnished in the affluent cottage tradition dating back a century, Sound Point Cottage is the ideal location for a memorable family vacation. Sail or kayak on the Sound, enjoy peaceful teas on the sprawling patio/deck or in the landscaped gardens, explore the shoreline, and walk the extensive grounds.

The cottage, with a style that harkens back to the early 20th century, features lovely antique and unique furnishings and collectibles. There are 5 bedrooms: three bedrooms featuring 2 twin beds, one bedroom featuring 1 twin bed, and the master bedroom featuring 2 oversized twin beds (sleeps 9 guests total). There are 4 full baths and a half bath.

The first floor features a large comfortable kitchen with dishwasher, trash compactor, large stove and oven, with a large kitchen table overlooking the water and a separate pantry room. There is a cozy den with TV, a large stately dining room with large fireplace. Off of the dining room is a screened porch area with lovely wicker furnishings, overlooking the patio and ocean. There is a formal living room and a separate parlor room with fireplace, perfect for quiet reading or intimate chats with friends.

All five bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms are on the second floor. Each room has its own personality and style. The master bedroom has a small balcony and a decorative fireplace.

Amenities include: washer/dryer, gas BBQ, cable TV and internet, lovely fireplaces, outdoor seating, two dishwashers, and heat for May and October rentals.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, with lovely annuals, stone walls, luxurious lawns and shrubbery. Stairs take you down to the shore where you can swim, sunbathe, launch a kayak, search for sea glass. In the woods there is also an amazing treehouse!

This exquisite property will take your breath away, with its location, its historical integrity and its charm. Located on Sargent Drive, in Northeast Harbor, it's just minutes from the downtown Northeast Harbor community and harbor. Just 3 or 4 minutes to the Northeast Harbor Golf Course. It's also just minutes away from several hiking trails in Acadia (Parkman, Norumbega), and 15 minutes to Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park Ocean Drive.

This cottage is a Sunday to Sunday rental.
