The Hideaway Victorian

This turn of the century caretaker’s cottage has been converted into a comfortable three bedroom cottage available for weekly rentals. Once owned by Evelyn Walsh MacLean, who donated the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian, The Hideaway Victorian is located in a quiet out-of-the -way lane in downtown Bar Harbor. Its driveway is right next to the entrance to the Shore Path, Bar Harbor's wonderful 2+ mile walk along the shore. It features comfortable accommodations for 6+ and a convenient in-town location.

The first floor features the living room with bay window (and sleep sofa), a sitting room with woodstove/fireplace, dining room, kitchen, double bedroom, and a bath with shower. Upstairs are two queen bedrooms, a second kitchen for early morning coffee and a spacious bath with a claw foot tub.

Enjoy the front deck, lawn and peek-a-boo water views.

Amenities include cable TV, DVD, internet, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, cooling fans, gas BBQ.

Walk to the downtown shops and restaurants in town! Close to the Jackson Laboratory and Acadia National Park, Kebo Valley Golf Course, public tennis courts, beaches, lakes, hiking and walking trails and much more! You can also kayak off the Sand Bar, just a few minutes away.
